The 2013 spring edition of the Jacksonville Home and Patio delivers a tasty new feature with the launch of Food Truck Sunday. The culinary event brings together seven of Jacksonville’s most popular food trucks for a rally in the courtyard area on Sunday, March 3.
The trucks will set up in the courtyard area during show hours, complete with al fresco dining on teak outdoor furniture and a DJ playing music. The cost of food is not included in show admission.
New to the food truck scene? We polled Jacksonville top foodies to give their quick reviews and don’t miss dishes from some of the participants:
The Salty Fig

The Salty Fig, Intuition-braised Pork Belly Sandwich: "A glorious mound of bacony goodness is cradled between two slices of Texas toast and tempered with the perfect tart homemade pickles. Can’t you just smell it now?" - Jessica, First Bite Blog www.first-bite.com
The Happy Grilled Cheese

“The Happy Grilled Cheese - I'm most excited to check out this truck! Home made potato chips with beer cheese soup? Yes, please!” – Stacey Steiner, www.starpulp.com
Up in Smoke BBQ

The Chee Chee Mac was delightful. I'm a litle picky about my Mac, and have been turned off in the past by too dry, too creamy or even too cheesy versions of the classic. Up in Smoke does it right, with elbow noodles in a JUST RIGHT creamy, cheesy mixture thats baked until the golden cheesy crust with herbs gets nice and crispy. - Reviewer on Yelp Jacksonville
Super Food Truck

The Mac and Cheese …Those things are in the top 10 best things that I have ever eaten. They are Orzo pasta balls stuffed with cojita cheese, roasted peppers, mascarpone cheese and shredded pork. They are served with a dipping sauce but you don’t really need it because they are so good by themselves!” – www.snackandjill.com
Le Petite Cheri Cupcakery

“I'm really hoping they'll have the Peanut Butter Cup cupcakes that day!!” Stacey Steiner, www.starpulp.com
The Gourmet Aviator

“As far as my must-try dish, I'd have to say the Super Bowl with Cuban Pork from Gourmet Aviator. SO GOOD! “ – Katie Couvillon, Yelp Jacksonville____________________________
The food truck lineup includes Up in Smoke BBQ, The Salty Fig, Kona Ice of SE Jax, The Happy Grilled Cheese, Le Petite Cheri Cupcakery, Gourmet Aviator and Super Food Truck
