4th of July DIY: Votive Candles

It's time to make your 4th of July table sparkle with spirit!  Our do-it-yourself red, white and blue votive candles are a simple way to incorporate a little American spirit into your table decor.  With a little tissue paper and some glue, you can create a unique stained glass effect that will perfectly compliment the rest of your Independence Day festivities! 

The Supplies

• Tissue Paper (red, white, blue)
• Mod Podge Glue
• Paint Brush
• Glass Votives
• Electronic Tea Lights

The Tutorial

First, tear small bits of red, white and blue tissue paper.  Next, cover the inside of the glass votive with the glue. 

Layer the bits of tissue on the glass, and apply another coat of glue over until glossy and wet.  Continue this process, layering the tissue paper to create a stained glass effect.  

Let the votives dry and insert real or electronic tea lights. 

Place on your 4th of July table and enjoy!
