Given the explosion of home improvement resources, from TV shows to Pinterest to this very blog, times are good for do-it-yourselfers.  Still, for some newbies, DIY projects can be daunting. Enter Chris Tice. The Central Florida-based military veteran and DIY expert will demystify the process while demonstrating four projects guests can do themselves during his daily appearances at the Central Florida Home + Garden Show, April 4-6, 2014 at the Orange County Convention Center.

Tice, an electrical engineer by trade and home improvement blogger on Examiner.com, says that becoming a DIY-er is much like the ubiquitous Nike ad:  Just Do It. “Get your hands dirty and give it a try. Practice on something inexpensive or already partially broken,” says Tice. He recommends picking up a free, used palette at a nearby home improvement store and turn it into a useful item, like a coat rack (find palette repurposing ideas on his blog and online).

Chris will demonstrate 4 projects each day: a wine bottle chandelier; a silverware wall clock; a handy space saving knife/spice/ipad stand; and if tailgating is your thing - turn your cooler into a portable a/c unit!

Tice also suggests getting familiar with power tools as he "voluntarily" did as a high school student in his family's kitchen and bath business. "Familiarity builds confidence," as his father used to say, so Tice plans to bring a few tools to his booth and encourages guests to try them with his guidance and supervision.

Don't miss Chris' demonstration at the show everyday at 11am, 1pm, 3pm, and 5pm in Booth # 1059!
