Guests at the Jacksonville Home + Patio Show may recognize Chris Lambton from his rosy - albeit unlikely - journey to reality stardom as one of the most popular contestants on season 6 of ABC's The Bachelorette. Fast forward a decade and Chris is still on a TV series that features roses, but this time he's tending to them as the star of HGTV's Yard Crashers and Going Yard (with wife Payton Lambton, also of The Bachelor).
Before he takes the Fresh Ideas Stage on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the show, here are five fun facts about Chris Lambton:
1. After making it to the top two bachelors on Ali Fedotowsky's season of The Bachelorette, ABC tried to woo fan favorite Chris to be the next Bachelor. Repeatedly. He turned them down.
2. He was a high school math teacher and basketball coach for New York City public schools.
3. He met his wife (and fellow Bachelor alum) Peyton Wright through mutual friends at a golf tournament in 2010.
4. He cites blue hydrangeas and ornamental grasses as favorite perennials
5. His favorite garden trend is growing edibles and urban farming.
Don't miss Chris at the Jacksonville Home + Patio Show. The home improvement expert will grace the Fresh Ideas Stage on Friday, March 6th at 6pm, Saturday, March 7th at 1pm, and Sunday, March 8th 1pm. To see the other exciting guests that will be joining us at the show, check out our Stage Schedule.
