We LOVE creative minds at the KC Remodel + Garden Show. And it's hard to find anyone more creative than Leanne Lee, Diva of DIY and 2015 Home + Garden Trendsetter of the Year. Leanne will be a featured speaker on our Fresh ideas Home Stage each day of the show, where she'll share her passion for upcycling - turning trash into treasure.
With Valentine's Day just around the corner we thought we'd share one of Leanne's favorite projects: Valentine's Blocks. This project is so easy even the kids can tackle it.
Here's what you'll need:
Step 1: Sand corners of cubes to slightly round of edges.
Step 2: Spray cubes with spray paint. Let dry completely.
Step 3: Lightly distress blocks with sandpaper (if desired).
Step 4: Apply scrap book paper using Mod Podge. Let dry.
Step 5: Apply photocopies over scrapbook paper or paint using Mod Podge. Let dry.
Step 6: Apply vinyl letters to scrapbook paper or paint (if desired).
These adorable blocks are just one of the many creative ideas Leanne will share at the KC Remodel + Garden Show - and we guarantee you'll love them all.
With two stages packed with home and garden experts like Leanne Lee and Kevin O'Connor, host of the award-winning PBS series This Old House, this is one show you won't want to miss.
The KC Remodel + Garden Show, the region's largest home show (with over 500 exhibitors), takes over the American Royal Center February 6-8, 2015. Don't have tickets yet? Get 2-for-1 via Facebook. And remember, February 6th is Hero Day at the show. All active and retired military, fire, and police personnel receive free admission to the show on that date.
