"Danish Iron Skillet, Shun Chef knife, & Vita Mix"

2. Where do you start when decorating an empty room?

"The floor plan, measure – Where is each piece of furniture going to go?"

3. What was your first job?

"A print shop, I loved the fumes"

4. Most memorable career moment to date?

"A moving moment involving a family, a bus and 5,000 plus volunteers."

5. Describe your design style in five words or less.

"Well I’m sort of an oxymoron: Modern/Primitive, Organic/Symmetric, Bold/Subtle"

6. Where do you gather most of your inspiration for new projects?

"From my travels."

7. What do you think is the best way to use wallpaper nowadays?

"On accent walls ... and ceilings."

8. Have you ever had any home décor/design regrets?

"How much time do we have?"

9. What design/gardening trend or item are you coveting this season?

"The vertical garden."

10. Which room in your home is your favorite? Why?

"Kitchen, it’s where we all end up no matter how comfortable the rest of the house is."
