"When hiring a home improvement company, make sure they don't use subcontractors. You're protected if the company you hire has fully-insured employees. In short: subcontractors are paid per item, not for a job completed with customer satisfaction as a top priority."

What are your biggest home and garden pet peeves?
"Companies that mislead customers."

What's the oddest client request you've heard?
"'Do you stand on your windows?' My response was "We don't stand on our windows, we stand behind them."

What's your favorite part of the Buffalo Home Show?
"Meeting new customers and educating them as to how we protect their investment."
