As the show kicks into high gear, we'd like to shed light on this year's celebrity presenter, HGTV's Carson Arthur, gracing the Home + Garden Stage for the first time in show history.

As the co-star of HGTV Canada's Critical Listing and founder of Carson Arthur Design, Carson Arthur has become a voice of environmentally-friendly landscape design on a global scale. We're thrilled to host this curb appeal master on the Home + Garden Stage. He'll be offering tips on how to find value in your outdoor spaces and how to get the most bang for your buck when it comes to landscaping. Looking to redesign or renovate your outdoor space? Ready, set, DESIGN! The IKEA White Room Design Competition

A bookcase turned coffee table? A dip-dyed ombre sofa? That's just a taste of the daring designs you'll find at the IKEA White Room Design Competition presented by the Calgary Herald, which has given some of Calgary's most talented students a license to hack pristine white furniture into unique design pieces. 

Four teams of  2^nd year students, assisted by their Bow Valley College professors, will unveil their colourful take on a once-white room using five classic IKEA furnishings plus $1,000-worth of home decor and accessories. 

Visitors to the Calgary Home + Design Show will have the opportunity to browse the four rooms and vote for their favourite look, with five lucky winners each walking away with one of the four final designs or white room of their very own courtesy of IKEA.

In celebration of the fast approaching Calgary Home + Design Show and the White Room Design Competition, IKEA is upping the ante and kicking off giveaway season early by offering up a $100 gift card.
