Can you believe Father’s Day is this Sunday? We’ve been sharing Father’s Day gift ideas for a few weeks to help you prepare for the special day, but we know they might not work for everyone. If you aren’t a DIY-er, but would like to surprise Dad with something homemade this year, why not cook him a delicious breakfast? We’ve compiled a list of simple, Dad-friendly breakfast recipes that are sure to delight. Check ‘em out below and show Dad how much you care by making his morning.

Perfect Pancakes – Using a squeeze bottle filled with pancake batter to spell out DAD? This is one super cute idea! It’s easy to do and such a fun way to show Dad this day is all about him.

Egg-cellent Egg Cups – If you think these breakfast bites look delicious, you’re right. If you think they’re hard to make, you’re wrong. Throw a little black forest ham in a muffin pan, crack an egg in it, bake, and you’re good to go.

Cool Cake – If your Dad loves bacon and beer, (and let’s face it, who doesn’t?), then he’ll love this cake! Vanilla cake mix and frosting, beer, bacon, and a waffle iron come together to create this towering treat.

Wicked Wookiee – Is your Dad is a big fan of Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewie? Freak out he will when you surprise him with this delightful donut.

Mighty Mix – Can’t decide what to cook for Dad? Try making a whole platter! With a hearty mix of smoked salmon, eggs, bacon, prosciutto, English muffins, and more you can’t go wrong!

Breakfast Burrito – Burritos are normally a mix of rice, beans, veggies, guacamole, salsa, and sour cream, and while they can be eaten for breakfast, they’re usually saved for a later meal. However, this wonderful wrap is perfect for breakfast. Eggs, steak, cheese, and hot sauce are the perfect morning combo. We’re sure your Dad will eat it up.

Playful Pizza – This is another type of food that’s usually reserved for a later meal (unless you’ve had a particularly long night). Again, some minor substitutions have turned it into a delicious breakfast feast that your Dad will flip for. He won’t be able to resist a slice!

We hope these delicious breakfast ideas help get your Father’s Day off to a great start. Do you normally cook up something different for your Dad? Make sure to share your Father’s Day traditions with @HomeShows on Twitter and Instagram – we’d love to see how your family celebrates. From our family to yours, Happy Father’s Day.

Father’s Day is right around the corner and we’re pretty sure we know what you’re thinking: what do you get the man who wants for nothing? If yours is like the many fathers who, when asked what they’d like to mark the occasion, say they don’t need anything and leave it at that, we’ve got you covered. No more last minute, uncertain shopping at the hardware store. This year, try making Dad a unique gift to show how much you care. Not only will he appreciate the thought, we’re sure he’ll appreciate the gift as well. We’ve rounded up the most creative, clever, and fun Father’s Day DIY gifts for you to try your hand at. Check ‘em out below and make Dad something he’ll love.

Planter – We’ve finally found a good use for those old floppy disks: turn them into a planter! Geeky Dads will rejoice at this super cute creation!

Just make sure to put an easy-to-care-for plant inside, like a succulent!

Shirt – Make him a sweet reminder of when his life changed and he earned his most important title: Dad.

Mug – If you’ve got really little ones, this craft is for you! Immortalize their drawings on a mug for Dad. It’ll make his morning joe that much better!

Wallet – Make a wallet using an old postcard. You can remind him of a trip he’s taken or just find some pretty scenery.

Desk Organizer – Made of Lego, this desk organizer will be fun to build and fun to use! Anything to make Mondays more bearable, are we right?

Picture Sachets – Freshen up Dad’s gym bag and his memory with scented picture sachets. Remind him of sweeter times while making his everyday smell a little better.

Pillowcase – Have your little ones share a loving message with Dad on a pillowcase. It’ll be one of the last things he sees at night and first in the morning. How cute is that?

Tie Clip – Class up Dad’s attire with a homemade leather tie clip! You can even put on a special message or fun saying!

Shaving Cream – Homemade shaving cream? Yes, please! We’re sure this rosemary mint concoction will secure your position as the favorite.

We hope this list helps you come up with a great idea for your Dad this year. From all of us here at Marketplace Events, we wish you and yours a happy and fun Father’s Day.

As the summer months approach, it's time to be inspired by a few divine country and cottage retreats.  Lounging by the lake and sitting by the bonfire are some of my favorite elements of cottage living.  While some may consider the cottage to be a slightly more retro hideout, great cottage home decor is not hard to find!

  5 Great Cottage Decor Ideas

1. Display your old and useful favorites on shelves, instead of cupboards.

2. Use ladders for outdoor storage and decor.

3. Repurpose old cottage memorabilia.

4. Add accents reflective of your favorite cottage surroundings.

Submitted by his daughter, Shauna!

Why is this Dad's Favorite Space?

"This is one of my dads best DIYs! He wanted to make an evening retreat that reminded us of the cottage. He used pine siding to enclose the porch and stain glass that he got from my grandparents old cottage! After some new tiling, a paint job and some furnishings, it was perfect!" - Shauna

With Father's Day fast approaching, it's time for us showcase some male-oriented spaces.  Today we're showing you some of our favorite gender neutral bedrooms or bedrooms for him.  When decorating for him, it's important to think less about decorative frills, and more about minimalism and functionality.

Below are some steps to achieving the perfect bedroom for him!

1. Incorporate darker woods and other natural elements.
