In honor of the undeniably talented, New Orleans design-extraordinaire, Chet Pourciau, the NOLA Home Show has teamed up with Chet’s alumni school, Delgado Interior Design School, to feature one-of-a-kind chairs designed by Mr. Pourciau himself, in the Design for Good Challenge. Specializing in vintage and modern furniture and lighting, Chet mixed items that straddled both worlds of contemporary and traditional.

At the NOLA Home Show, you can take a look at a room designed by the students of Delgado Interior Design School, where young designers made the special set of chairs the focal point of the space. The students’ creative minds are sure to give you the latest inspiration to design a room surrounding a center piece.

Chet was a giving character, so we are dedicating a silent auction for the pair of chairs right here at the NOLA Home Show to benefit his scholarship fund, sending more students to Delgado’s Interior Design School!

Chet delighted New Orleans’ best shopping street, Magazine Street, with his own business, Chet Pourciau Design, and kept a high profile with regular appearances on WVUE-TV Fox 8 newscasts, where he discussed design and fashion. He also brought flair to New Orleans with his own talk show "Chet Chat" on WLAE-TV.

The NOLA Home Show takes over the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center January 15-17, 2016. With hundreds of home improvement experts, special appearances by HGTV and DIY Network stars, gorgeous gardens to explore, and so much more, it's a must-attend event for New Orleans homeowners.

Renovating bathrooms are all the hype for homeowners in 2016! Matt Muenster, the face of HGTV’s Bath Crashers, reveals cutting-edge materials and design tips on how to revitalize any size bathroom, large or small.

Check out a few exclusive tips from Matt on how to achieve your dream bathroom below:

When it comes to designing a bathroom, Matt’s first tip is to DECLUTTER! Get rid of all the excess, take a step back and ask yourself, “does it need to be there?” Homeowners can achieve year-round appeal to their home by keeping a tidy house and it costs zero dollars, (we like the sound of that!).

Also, Matt advises to be aware of your skill set when starting a DIY project and be honest about it. If the project is too extensive, sit back and hire a professional. Remember, when working with a contractor or interior designer, hire someone you genuinely like and feel comfortable with. As Matt says, “You’ll be entering into a project relationship with them – don’t enter into relationships if you don’t like the person.”

Another tip from the bathroom expert is to do what feels good to you and take inspiration from everywhere. Often, homeowners go with what is “trendy,” but this word can imply that the design decision you made has a shelf life.

Recently, Matt launched a new line of bathroom vanities. Check out his line, which is now available at DECOLAV!

Catch Matt Muenster on HGTV and see him live at the NOLA Home Show at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center January 15-17. Matt will be on the Williams-Sonoma Home & Cooking Stage all weekend long!
