It's getting cooler outside and the Holiday baking ideas are all emergeing But first here's something for every season, make your taste buds and tummy extremely happy with my Nanny's Banana Bread! So after eating a slice with a cup of tea, I put this recipe up on Snapguide so everyone could experience the joy that come with of this delicious treat.

Today, we feature another big name coming to this fall’s Vancouver Home + Design Show and folks, this one hardly needs an introduction. After all, as both a local and internationally renowned cooking star, Chef Rob Feenie is no stranger to most Vancouverites.
Born and raised in Burnaby, Rob’s culinary success has made him one of the most recognized and respected names in the restaurant industry. In 2005, he shot to international fame when he defeated Chef Masaharu Morimoto to become the first Canadian winner of popular television show Iron Chef America. In addition to leading the culinary team at Cactus Club Café in the creation of simple, globally inspired cuisine that utilizes fresh, local and sustainable ingredients, Rob also recently penned his third cookbook, Casual Classics: Everyday Recipes For Family and Friends, now available in bookstores everywhere (be sure to snag a signed copy at the show – keep reading for more on that!).

You might call Quang Dang the prodigal son of West Restaurant + Bar, where he started his career as a junior sous chef. After working at a number of top Vancouver eateries, Chef Dang made his return to West last year as Executive Chef. We’re thrilled to have him as part of our Savour Your Life Cooking Stage line-up at the Vancouver Home + Design Show, where he’ll be sharing his signature modern take on a popular classic: brunch. The Vancouver Home + Design Show is getting set to debut one of the city’s most exciting cooking competitions: the Savour Thursday Dessert Duel, happening Thursday, October 11 at 6pm on the Savour Your Life Cooking Stage.
This month, we’ve profiled our first two esteemed competitors. Last but not least, today the spotlight shifts to our third and final entry: Curtis Luk, Top Chef Canada competitor and pastry chef at hot new eatery Fable. He’ll also be appearing alongside Fable executive chef (and fellow Top Chef Canada competitor) Trevor Bird on the Savour Your Life Cooking Stage, demonstrating two of the restaurant’s top-selling farm-to-table dishes. They’re to die for – just wait. Or better yet, visit them at Fable to get a little advance tasting! Plus, catch Trevor as he lends a hand during the Samsung Passion for Fresh Cooking Challenge on Design Saturday, October 13, where he’ll pair up with an amateur chef with the goal of winning $7,500 worth of Samsung Home Appliances.
